Dear All,

1) Life Drawing

I am afraid that Life Drawing is CANCELLED this week due to unforseen circumstances. I’m afraid also there are no more life drawing session on until the next academic year as we start preparing for our exams in summer term. See you next year!

2) Freestyle Workshop

We will be hosting the same acrylic workshop as we did two weeks ago. The premise is that everyone buys their own canvases (a good shop in London is “Cassart”) and we’ll provide the paintbrushes and paints. It gives everyone a chance to work on their own projects and complete them over a series of weeks. This will also be the LAST freestyle workshop we are going to host this term.

Day: Thursday 4h March
Room: G205
Time: 7-9pm
Cost: FREE

3) Week 9 Exhibition (next week)

Any type of media is welcome, and even pieces you’ve created in our Freestyle sessions and Life Drawing sessions are welcome. At the moment we may not have enough pieces to fill our venue!

Dear Members,

1) News: No events this week.

HOWEVER, there are plans for a painting/acrylic workshop next term. We would also like for you to suggest anything you want to do that we haven’t done yet – such as clay, inking…etc so that we can make it more interesting for everyone next term.

(Email us at su.soc.visualarts@lse.ac.uk for suggestions.)

Thanks for coming to all our workshops and life drawing sessions this term! Have a good holiday!

Thanks,

Visual Arts Soc.

1) Life Drawing
As usual, we have our Life drawing workshop. This week we have a female model (the same one as last time) and we hope to see you there! Please remember to bring your sketchbooks and pencils! Charcoal will be provided.
Day: Thursday 3rd December
Room: D002
Time: 7-9pm

2) Exhibition Enquiries
As you may have noticed, there haven’t been that many exhibitions this term. Not many people expressed an interest in the Tate Exhibition last week, so we were wondering if you members could suggest a gallery that you wanted to go to instead. Please email Su.Soc.Visualarts@lse.ac.uk with any suggestions you may have and we’ll do our best to organise it for week 10.

3) Student Union Annual Budget Meeting
If you can make it, our society’s budget is going to be announced on Thursday 1pm in the Old Theatre. If you can come to this meeting, it will be chance to ask any questions about our budget and how the SU is spending their money.

Thanks,
Visual Arts Soc.

Thanks for everyone who attended last week! Jon will be supervising our drawing classes again this week. Our new teacher studied Fine Art at Oxford University, and he will be teaching us how to use shading and tonality with pencil and charcoal in our second class. Please bring your own sketchbooks and pencils; charcoal will be provided.
Day: Thursday 26th November
Room: D209
Time: 7-9pm
Cost: £2 members, £3 non members

As usual, we have our Life drawing workshop.

We are going to the Tate this week! The Tate Modern currently has a free exhibition: Jill Magid’s ‘Authority to Remove’ collection. It was commissioned by the Dutch secret service; and a Unilever series by Miroslaw Balka.
Date: Wednesday 18th November
Time: 12:30-12:45pm (leaving at 12:45pm)
Meeting Point: The Quad, next to the stage area. Julie will be wearing a very bright red/pink dress-top to draw attention.
We will be walking there, it shouldn’t take longer than 25 minutes to get there.
The whole visit would probably be around 2-3 hours max (excluding walking). Dependent on how much we want to see, and how long people take on viewings. I would also encourage people to bring sketchbook and pencils; some paintings can be very inspirational :)
IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND, PLEASE EMAIL Su.Soc.Visualarts@lse.ac.uk

Thankyou all,
Visual Arts Soc. Committee.
